Asasah: An MFI with a difference
Asasah believes provision of opportunities is critical to the productive poor, who often represent a vast but voiceless segment of the population. We believe that commercial orientation is the only path to sustainable microfinance for millions of micro entrepreneurs in Pakistan. Our business-model makes us an MFI with a difference in the following ways:
Speed, Simplicity and Standards (SSS)
Asasah’s accelerated growth is a consequence of our core values of SSS. Our core values have enabled us to decentralize operations in a speedy manner. Moreover, our core values ensure that clients are satisfied with our service delivery mechanisms.
Mass Marketing
Asasah’s marketing department employs mass marketing techniques suitable for Asasah target markets. These include employing field persuasion techniques, cable TV, newspapers, banners, brochures, stickers. These techniques are not used by other MFIs in Pakistan.
Staff Training
Asasah is the first NGO-MFI in Pakistan to open a training centre, which regularly trains staff members. The centre was established on March 1, 2003 and trains staff on a variety of management and operations courses.
